Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement describes ofi’s and its affiliates use of your Personal Data collected under the Personal Information Collection Notice signed by you (the “Notice”). It is supplemental to, and should be read together with, the Notice, and the ofi Privacy Statement available on www.ofi.com/privacy Where there may be any inconsistency, the Notice will prevail over this Privacy Statement and the ofi Privacy Statement (in that order).

 

It is ofi’s policy to comply with all applicable privacy and data protection laws. ofi will collect and use your data only for specified and legitimate purposes, process it in a manner consistent with such purposes, take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is accurate, complete and kept up to date (where necessary) and take appropriate measures to provide adequate protection for your data.

 

What data do we collect?

We collect and process personal data about you including but not limited to:

  • Photographs, videos and other imaging (where your personal identity is clearly identifiable);
  • first name and last name;
  • Social, geographical and biographical information;
  • country of residence and other contact details; and
  • occupation.

 

For what purposes do we use your data?

We use this data for the following purposes:

  • Publication on ofi owned channels including websites, social media and prints;
  • Proactively placed content in external media publications (print and online);
  • Communicate with you;
  • Promote our sustainability and traceability initiatives;
  • Market and promote ofi products and corporate activities;
  • Support research initiatives by our partners to support community collaboration and advancements in the sustainability and traceability arenas; and
  • Develop and manage our relationships with you and our business partners.

 

What is our legal basis for collecting and processing your data?

We will only collect and process this data with (a) your consent; and (b) where applicable, as required by ofi and our affiliates to conduct our business and pursue our legitimate interests; and (c) for any reasonably expected or legitimate purposes, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. 

 

Who will we share this data with?

We will share your data with other members of the ofi group, including any affiliates, to achieve the purposes described above. We will also share your data with government authorities and/or law enforcement officials if mandated by law, and any current and future customers, service providers, suppliers and business partners of ofi in pursuing the purposes described above or otherwise with your consent.

 

Where will we send your data?

Other than sharing with our third-party processors for the purposes listed above, from time to time your data may be transferred to one of our affiliates in another country. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is adequately protected in accordance with the relevant data protection legislation which resides over processing of data in that country. Where your personal information is transferred outside the EEA to an ofi affiliate or an entity in a country that is not subject to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission, your personal data will be protected by EU Commission approved cross-border safeguards including standard contractual clauses for cross-border data transfer.

 

What measures do we have in place to protect your data?

ofi maintains reasonable safeguards to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your data. Although we use security measures to help protect your data against unauthorized disclosure, we cannot guarantee the security of information provided over the internet and will not be responsible for breaches of security beyond our reasonable control.

 

What rights do you have in relation to your data?

You may choose not to provide data that we request. You have the right to ask ofi for a copy of your data and to verify, correct or restrict active processing of your data. You can ask ofi to stop using your images at any time, in which case it will not be used in future publications but may continue to appear in publications already in circulation. How long will you retain my data?

Except as otherwise required by law, ofi will retain your personal data for such period that is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected.
