The push for sustainability is built into the ofi business model. From our offices to our farms and third-party supply chains, we’re monitoring and taking action across issues as diverse as farmer poverty, deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions. We base our approach to sustainability on our comprehensive Sustainability Framework. It has 10 priority areas with specific goals and targets that are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Global Compact. We report on these in our annual reports. Our cocoa, coffee and hazelnut product platforms have also launched public goals.

AtSource

AtSource is a sustainability management system for sustainable products and supply chains which helps food, beverage and ingredient customers optimize the sustainability performance of their supply chains with actionable data.

Olam Direct

Our industry-leading platform that will give those currently beyond our buying stations direct access to advice, financing, supplies, and sales. It empowers farmers to get prices and transact with our teams rather than going through intermediaries, which yields not only higher prices for farmers but cost savings on their expenses.

OFIS

The Olam Farmer Information System (OFIS) allows our field staff to collect data, record GPS data points for farms and social infrastructure, manage training activities, and track all "first mile" transactions including financing, input distribution, and crop purchases.

The sweet treats and trends winning hearts this Valentine’s Day

Chocolate has long been synonymous with Valentine’s Day, with sweet treats a classic way to celebrate the season of love.

But Valentine’s Day is evolving, with Gen Z and Millennials redefining traditions. Many consumers are choosing to celebrate this day with friends and family members, as well as significant others. In 2023, 40% of Gen Z and 20% of Millennials said they were planning to buy their friends a Valentine’s gift.^[1] And what better way to do so than with cocoa?

As consumers change the way they celebrate Valentine’s Day – and who they celebrate with – there is an opportunity for manufacturers to develop new products. From introducing more exotic flavors in confectionery to creating more experiential formats and expanding into new categories, we’re seeing companies inventing new ways for consumers to celebrate the season of love with those who matter most to them.
